Vibrant vision

Artist Xoe Hall puts the finishing touches to one of her murals which are brightening the concrete-on-concrete atmosphere of the University of Otago Link.

The murals are part of a refresh of the area between the University Union and the main library, and aims to make it more inviting for students.

The furniture, carpet and vinyl will be replaced, while new microwaves and alcoves for pop-up stalls have been installed.

The upgrade is part of the university’s Pae Tata Strategic Plan to 2030, which envisages vibrant spaces that meet students’ needs and contribute to their outstanding experiences at Otago. Most of the changes have taken place during the mid-semester break which ends on Monday.
