Description
The Souverän 800 is the globally revered classic Pelikan model. The striped material that makes up the distinctive barrels of the Souverän range is composed from a cotton base using a formula developed specially for Pelikan. The layers are slowly built up over months before being sliced and shaped using a natural diamond. Also available as a solid black finish of high grade resin.
The resin cap features characteristic double rings precisely integrated to present a seamless transition between materials. The glossy green, blue or black barrels are complemented to great effect by gold-plated metal accents. The clip of the Pelikan represents a beak, offering yet another truly unique characteristic to this historic manufacturer, whose brand is one of the oldest trademarks in Germany.
The 800 model presents the 'large' design in the Souverän range, sitting below the extra large 1000 and above the medium-sized 600 models.
Pelikan especially pride themselves on their expertise in creating nibs, inks and feeds; their mastery over these essential components enables them to create fine-writing instruments of the highest quality.
The Souverän M800 fountain pen features a bi-coloured 18-carat gold nib which is hand written-in before leaving the factory and uses a piston filling mechanism. Available in four nib widths: EF, F, M, B.

I got the all black version of this pen. Very elegant, and excellent quality. This is my favourite pen in my collection. And I can’t rave enough about the customer service; the best I have encountered. These guys take it to the next level!!

Back to a fountain pen after many years of hurried ball point scribbling. I'd forgotten how satisfying it is to just sit down with an excellent pen.
The Pelikan M800 is lovely. I'm left handed and this pen began writing beautifully straight from the box. I have large hands and it feels right even unposted.
Customer service from the Pen Company was outstanding. Received my parcel to the States in three days (including the New Year holiday) Can't beat that.
Their price was by far the best as well.

The M800 is a phenomenal fountain pen. I chose the classic Pelukan green with a medium nib. The piston operates smoothly, the nib is beautiful, the nib is also buttery smooth. Many people have commented that Pelikan mobs write a size larger than they are. Ie the fine writes like a medium. In my case, the medium nib is a true medium.
I live in the U.S. shipping across the pond was not an issue.
I cannot recommend purchasing from The Pen Company enough. I am truly a satisfied customer.
2nd to none fountain pen...
Pelikan makes the best fountain pens. And they write great. Nibs always write beautifully with little adjustments if any. One of few pens you can screw out nib and replace with another NIB size. Which also makes them easier to clean. I have written with many many fountain pens, but always come by to the Pelikans.
