Person taken to hospital after crash

A Ford ute lies in a ditch near the corner of the Waikouaiti-Waitati Rd (State Highway 1) and Coast Rd after a crash near Hawksbury, north of Dunedin, yesterday.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one person was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A police spokesman said they were called to the single-vehicle crash on the Waikouaiti-Waitati road about 6am yesterday.

The ute had ended up in a ditch and debris was seen on the side of the road.
