At Balmacewen the Otago B52s stayed on track for a home semifinal defeating Taieri Lakes with relative ease.
George Prendergast (B52s) defeated Josh Boath in 13 holes to set the tone, before Will McLauchlan, Mat Weir and Lewis Harper locked up the win for the B52’s.
Jarrod Mitchell continued his good run defeating Howard Maxwell to get the visitors on the board before Brett Kennelly added to the Lakes tally defeating Harrison Maaka who was a late call up for Tom Gillan.
At Corstorphine, the Saints were made to work for their 4-2 win over a plucky Chisholm Links outfit.
Matt Crawford earned the home side’s first win over Jason Pegler 4/3.
But the next two games went the way of the Links with Kai Koni and John McIntee putting the visitors ahead before Cody McMullan won a crucial game on the final green for the Saints, against Mike Weastell, to level the fixture.
With the fixture in balance, the last two games went the distance, but with Jake Bleach and Jacob Bellamy both one up playing the final hole against Blair Lifiton and Luke Worthington respectively, the Saints only needed one of them to halve the hole.
Both Bleach and Bellamy completed the victory with two wins which perhaps flattered the home side in what was a relatively tight contest.
At Waldronville, the Bombers always looked in control against a struggling Island Park who, after winning their 1st two games of the season, have now lost six in a row and are almost out of the playoff race.
Park No 6 Karl Horsnell was called up for Kade Haley-Broderick but was no match for Ryan Rosevear who earned first points for the visitors, before Brandon Hodgson defeated Monty Wong to give the Bombers two wins.
Park greenkeeper Michael Minty was forced to come from behind to beat Ricky Stewart 4/2 to get the hosts on the board.
However the result was done and dusted when Luke Murdoch lead all the way against Jarden Hammond winning 4/3 and Ben Patston defeated Mike Wray at No 1.
Phil Bungard added to Park’s tally with a ball striking exhibition 2/1 over Duncan Croudis.
