Sally Rae has had a long career with Allied Press, most recently in the role of business and rural editor, taking responsibility for business and rural coverage across all of the company's platforms, including the Otago Daily Times, Southern Rural Life and Central Rural Life newspapers.
She was brought up on a farm in North Otago and now runs her family's Poll Dorset sheep stud which was established in 1972. She is a previous winner of the Alliance Group red meat industry journalism award and the Rural Women New Zealand journalism award in the New Zealand Guild of Agricultural Journalists annual awards, and is the author of two best-selling books.

Tim is a vastly experienced rural journalist who joined Central Rural Life in late 2021. During a lengthy career in journalism, he had a tenure as national rural editor for Fairfax Media NZ, now Stuff. Tim has a knack for knocking out interesting yarns on Canterbury's farming families while also delving into the issues affecting farmers in the region. He has won many awards. Covering Canterbury rural areas, Tim is always looking for the next great story.

Shawn joined Southern Rural Life in mid-2021, continuing his career with Allied Press having previously written for The Star and the Otago Daily Times. At the 2022 Community Newspaper Awards, Shawn received special mention in the best senior news journalist category; the judges commenting that he had "an obvious passion for all things rural and obviously knowing that there is a great yarn through every farm gate". Shawn covers Otago and Southland rural issues.
